Hundreds walk in Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention event : Hundreds of people walked to fight suicide at Presque Isle State Park.    It's a walk many people said they wish they weren't a part of , but are thankful for the opportunity.  The Out of the Darkness Walk to benefit suicide prevention drew in more than 250 people who in some way have been affected by suicide.    The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention reports 44,000 people each year end their own lives in the United States. In Pennsylvania 5 people end their lives each day. Dawn Campbell, who  walked the 3 miles for suicide prevention, knows all to well the the pain of losing a fried to suicide.    It's really just touched my life and I want to just come out every year in memory of her and to support the cause, said Campbell at the walk with her daughters by her side.    Others like, Erica Skinner, surrounded by a team of 30 of her family members and friends. One Person Injured In Springfield Crash : One person was injured in a single vehicle crash in East Springfield Saturday night. The accident happened at about midnight in the 12000 block of West Ridge Road (Rt. 20) near Rt. 215. This SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled over into the front yard of a residence. The driver was extricated and transported to UPMC Hamot. State Police are investigating.

A Hero Welcomed Home: Local Firefighter Returns From Deployment : A local firefighter returned home from deployment to a surprise welcome home party.

Local fire department celebrates the return of a soldier : A hometown hero returned after being deployed for months.    The Albion Volunteer Fire Department welcomed home Brian Abbate with a parade of fire trucks.  The volunteer fire fighter  spent the last 4 months serving in the Air force in Qatar .    His wife, Marcia, and two young daughters, Tiffany and Issabella were by his side as he caught up with familiar faces inside of the Albion Fire Department.    Abbate described his time over seas as challenging, the hardest part, being away from his family, ' It started to set in when days pass and weeks pass and it just  felt like it was never ending, it was hard.' said Abbate.    He Told JET 24 he is looking forward to relaxing and getting involved again with the fire department.

The Pay it Forward truck heads to the Albion Fair : 'A Big event in a little town' is where the Pay it Forward truck showed up.    The JET 24, FOX 66, Lakeside Auto Pay it Forward truck made it's way to the Albion Area Fair. Gloria Shearer or Albion  drew the high card, Ace of Clubs.  She chose to donate the money to the Albion Volunteer Fire Department. An organization her and her husband have been involved with for more than 40 years.    'They're always trying to raise money there's never enough to go around,' Said Shearer.    The Albion Fire Department, stationed at the fair for the week, surprised as they saw the big check heading their way.  The $300 , the fire chief told JET 24/ FOX 66, will be used to update equipment.   Make sure to tune into FOX 66's  Good Day Erie on Wednesdays at 8  in the morning for next weeks Pay it Forward clue.
