PennDOT will not fund EMTA

PennDOT will not fund EMTA: Pennsylvania Department of Transportation put  in writing that they have no intentions of funding the regions' largest  transit authority after the charter expires.   The charter is expires Wednesday.  The letter  from PennDOT to the EMTA board director states  ' As for funding PennDOT is not willing to continue to provide funding payments to EMTA after September 14, 2016.'   The letter also stated EMTA needs to provide a certificate of insurance coverage to PennDOT by noon on Wednesday  September, 14th in order for the busses to continue to run.    Erie County Council President Andre Horton told JET 24/ FOX 66 he believes the  authority will meet the requirements of the insurance. He said he's unsure of what will happen, perhaps it would be better sorted out in court.
