PennDOT has used 19,000 tons of salt so far this winter, so where does that leave us for the rest?: So far, we've had quite a snowy winter.  Crews, working many days around the clock, trying to keep the roads clear.  With all that snow, what is the salt supply looking like across the region?  Surprisingly well.  PennDOT has used 19,000 tons of salt.  The five-year average is about 28,000 tons per year.
