State Senate race in the 49th District competitive in final stretch

State Senate race in the 49th District competitive in final stretch: The race for State Senate in the 49th District has become competitive as the election approaches.  On Sunday, The Erie Times News endorsed GOP challenger, Dan Laughlin.   Both candidates have been raising questions about their opponents campaign funding.   Senator Sean Wiley (D) and republican nominee Dan Laughlin have run highly funded campaigns.  Both campaign financial reports showed campaign money has come in from outside of Erie.    Laughlin expressed concerns over a group called 'Friends of Erie.' The group that is apparently not from Erie has funded some Wiley television advertisements.    'There is no entity that is funding my campaign from that title and there is no entity that is a source of revenue for our campaign from the title, and I really believe that we have to really focus on where the investments are coming from in our own Campaigns,' Said Senator Sean Wiley.    Senator Wiley insisted Laughlin has received more than half a million dollars from a republican donor from across the state. Laughlin told JET 24, he has received support from outside of Erie.    'Once the race tightened up, the Republican Party started to help out and that's pretty typical I think, ' said Dan Laughlin.    Follow the race Tuesday on Yourerie.com and by tuning in to JET 24 Action News and FOX 66 News.
