Peace rally in Perry Square following election

Peace rally in Perry Square following election: While thousands of people across the country  are protesting the results of Tuesday's election, voters in Erie County  are calling for peace.  Dozens of people came together promoting peace in unity after a violent week of protests in the country.  Perry Square was filled with voters all looking to come together in solidarity.    ' Other places, they're standing- up against the outcome of the election and while I understand that anger, what we are trying to do is to stand- up out of love for our fellow community members to stand against any hate before it can even happen,' said event leader, Daniel Doubet..    The voters who gathered Sunday afternoon all spoke respectfully and shared ways to set better examples for the youth in the community.  Many of the protesters agreed that the violent protests that have been occurring in throughout the country, are not the answer.    ' When people are protesting like that, it doesn't do any good you know, we all have to work together,' said Caitlyn Strohmeyer, a voter at the gathering advocating for peace.    ' I think the message is that we are strong and we are going to handle this well and we are just going to be together and move on from here,' said Gloria Thompson.    The organizers told JET 24, there will be more events planed  in the near future.
