Arthur Blystone Obituary - Edder Funeral Home, Inc.: Arthur Glenn Blystone, 80 of Fairview, passed away on Thursday March
17, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Erie on June 14, 1935, son of the late Elton and
Elizabeth (Randall) Blystone.
He graduated from Girard High School and graduated from Penn State
Behrend with an Associate's Degree in Business.
He served in the Army, First Missile Battalion in Spokane, Wash.,
where he attained the rank of Sergeant E-5.
Arthur worked at Marx Toys, Hayes Manufacturing, Carlson Erie, and at
Eriez Magnetics for 36 years as a product structure analyst. He was
also assistant manager of Eriez Magnetics Federal Credit Union. He
owned and operated the Girard Beer Distributor for several years
He was a member of Weis Library United Methodist Church. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting, golf and travel. He was also active in the Y-Indians
Guides. His joy was attending and supporting his sons at all sports
events and all other functions. Arthur was a loving husband and father
who will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Glenn Blystone; his
parents, Elton and Elizabeth Blystone; a sister Joyce Pettigrew and
his brother, Richard Blystone.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marilyn
(Weyeneth) Blystone; his son, Timothy Blystone (Patty) of Lisle, Il.;
daughter-in-law Kathy Blystone of Bear Creek, N.C.; and his
grandchildren, Michelle Holland (Ethan), Kristin Blystone, William
Blystone, Robert Blystone and Brittany Blystone; great grandson, Solon
H. Holland.
Also surviving are his sister, Margaret Hewel (Gerald) of Fairview;
three sisters-in-law, Janet Northrop of Campbell, N.Y., Audrey Ellis
(Edmund) of Chandlers Valley, Pa. and Dorothy Hayes (Richard) of
Albion; brother-in-law William Weyeneth (Judy) of E. Springfield; and
many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Edder
Funeral Home, Inc. 309 Main St. East, Girard and again at the Weis
Library United Methodist Church 6020 Heidler Rd., Fairview on Monday
from 10AM until the time of the service there at 11AM.
Burial with full military honors will be in the Weis Library
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weis Library United
Methodist Church, 6020 Heidler Rd., Fairview, PA 16415 or to the
Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
Arthur’s family would like to express their gratitude to Great
