Gail Jakobowski Obituary - Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.: Gail Marie (Huya) Jakobowski, 72, of Albion and formerly of Fairview,
died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by
her family. She was born in Greenville, PA on April 30, 1943, the
daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalie Huya.

Gail graduated from Northwestern High School. She then went on The
Spencer Hospital School of Nursing. Gail worked most of her career at
Pleasant Ridge Manor-West, initially as an LPN, then as a Ward Clerk,
retiring six years ago. She was the President of AFSCME Local 2666 for
many years. She also served as a representative of the union at the
state level and attended many national conventions. Gail enjoyed
crocheting; her family and friends will have beautiful doilies to
remember her by. She loved keeping up on current events. Gail
especially loved spending time with her family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Jakobowski in
1980.

Survivors include her two daughters, Tammy Crane and her husband,
Michael, of Waterford and Linette Mattson and her husband, Tim, of
Edinboro; five sisters, Caroline (Michael) Ferrare of Fairview,
Patricia (William) Kibler of Corry, Rosalie (Edward) Sherman of
Albion, Marilyn Huya of Ashtabula, and Beverly Huya of Cranesville;
two brothers, Joseph (Janet) Huya of Fairview and John (Barbara) Huya
of Albion; also her favorite uncle, Salvatore Consiglio, her dog,
Pebbles and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed per her wishes. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, Crossingville
on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 am. with Fr. Philip Oriole
officiating.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Mark Leone, DO for his exceptional
and compassionate care. As she did in in life, Gail chose to continue
to care for others after her passing by being an organ donor.

Burial of Ashes will be in St. James Cemetery at a later date.
