Maynard Sanders Obituary - Edder Funeral Home, Inc.

Maynard Sanders Obituary - Edder Funeral Home, Inc. : Maynard G. Sanders, 86 of Girard, passed away on Saturday January 30, 2016 at pleasant Ridge Manor. He was born December 2, 1929 in Girard Township, a son of the late Frederick and Emma (Joslin) Sanders. Maynard was a well known Girard Athlete, where during the course of one particular game scored three touchdowns, one for a hundred yards, one for ninety eight and ninety yards, all on kick off returns. After graduating from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1948, Maynard worked for the PA railroad, which later merged with Conrail. He then enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Massachusetts. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country he was called back to Conrail where he worked until his retirement in 1995 as a car inspector. He was very proud that he played semi professional football

Robert Ward Obituary - Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. : Robert L. Ward, 86, of Edinboro, PA died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home. He was born in Union City, on September 2, 1929, the son of the late George D. and Leana E. Ward. Robert worked as a dairy farmer for 50 years and after retiring, he also worked at Walmart for 5 years. He was member of the National Farmers Association and has been a member of the Franklin Center United Methodist Church since 1954. Robert enjoyed hunting, going to fairs, watching horse and tractor pulls, and farm auctions. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma A. (Waid) Ward; two brothers, George (Bud) and Charles Ward; four sisters, Beth Alberts, Harriet Owens, Barbara Obert, and Rachel Laughery. Survivors include four sons, Robert D.
